MMA Ironman #2: Jeremy Horn - 12/18/2003
by Tony Caiazzo

Jeremy Horns mixed martial arts record is officially listed at 60-12-5. But what you dont see when viewing such an accomplishment are the names that make up those 77 fights. Horn has faced the virtual whos-who of mixed martial arts and hes beaten them 60 times to be exact. What makes Jeremy Horns story so intriguing is the fact that he has matched against the best in the business. Horn is a fighter who is perpetually challenging himself against the greatest fighters in the world. His prowess in the ring earned him legendary status as the Jiu-Jitsu trainer of champions at Team Miletich in Davenport Iowa. This soft-spoken man of few words has been voted into the #2 spot as one of MMAs Top-5 American Ironmen.

IF: When did you get started in martial arts in general?
Horn: I started when I was about 13 years old.

IF: When did you hook up with Miletich?
Horn: I think when I was about 20, but I'm not exactly sure.

IF: What is your Mixed Martial Arts record right now?
Horn: Oh, I don't really know. I have about twelve losses and five draws, and I've got over a hundred fights, so whatever that works out to.

IF: How many championship belts do you have floating around your place?
Horn: About seven or eight.

IF: What's your most memorable fight?
Horn: Oh I don't know, a lot of people still talk about my fight with Chuck, and my fight with Frank Shamrock. I've had some very memorable one's.

IF: How about the toughest opponent?
Horn: Chuck was tough, Shamrock, probably Noguiera

IF: What's the next fight you have lined up?
Horn: I'm fighting in Cincinnati coming up on the 16th.

IF: What's your favorite submission hold?
Horn: I like all of em. (laughs)

IF: Ok, now let's do some name association.
Horn: Ok, but I'm not very good at this.

IF: Don't worry about it, there are no wrong answers. First name, Chuck Liddell.
Horn: Tough

IF: Tito Ortiz
Horn: Aggressive

IF: Randy Couture
Horn: Level headed

IF: Vitor Belfort
Horn: Erratic

IF: Wanderlei Silva
Horn: Insane

IF: Dan Henderson
Horn: Oh, I don't know really what to say about Dan, he's just a very well-rounded fighter overall

IF: Kevin Randleman
Horn: Oh, I don't even know.....(silence)

IF: I'll let you off the hook with that one.
Horn: Thanks (both laugh)

IF: Ok Jeremy, now for the hard questions. What's your favorite T.V. show?
Horn: Simpsons

IF: And what's your favorite video game?
Horn: Oh, there are so many.

IF: If you just had to pick one to be locked in a room with.
Horn: Probably Halo

IF: I heard that you Miletich guys love Halo
Horn: We do! (laughs)

IF: Any messages for your fans?
Horn: No not really, I mean obviously without the fans we wouldn't be here, so I guess I should just say thanks to them for watching, and I appreciate their continued support.

IF: Well Jeremy thanks for your time, and best of luck in your fight in Cincy!
Horn: Thank you.
